Determinants of Supply Chain Management Practices in Organizations
Abstract
Getting people or organizations working together is currently one of the most critical things in our today’s business environment. This is because competition has changed from being firm based to supply chain based. As firms work together to maximize supply chain profitability, it becomes apparent that relationships between the members of the chain have to be managed. This paper advances the view that superior supply chain outcome is achieved through the pursuit of collaboration, human resource practices and organizational culture which aid in strengthening the inter-organizational bonds of the various members. The paper is a conceptual paper which proposes a model of supply chain performance based on the combination of the different determinants identified through literature review. Essentially the main aim of the paper is to propose a framework of supply chain performance which needs to be tested through
empirical research across different supply chains.
